Pencarrow specialises in private equity investment in partnership with management shareholders. Pencarrow focuses on New Zealand owned and operated businesses. We typically target mid-sized companies with enterprise values of $20 million to $100 million that are looking for an active partner to assist in managing growth. We seek to commit $10 million to $30 million in equity to each transaction.
Pencarrow specialises in MBOs, MBIs and expansion capital for companies across a range of industries. We look for businesses that offer a clear and sustainable competitive advantage in their field and where we can leverage our networks and experience to help companies succeed. We will also invest in situations offering the opportunity for industry consolidation, replacement capital or succession deals. We will invest in both minority and majority shareholdings.
Pencarrow is an active and supportive investor to its investee companies. Pencarrow develops a close working relationship with owners and management, and provides strategic support at board level. We provide access to our strong business networks and contacts, which can assist with both the growth of the business and the most successful exit. We also assist with strategic initiatives (including acquisitions and divestments), identifying key personnel, raising debt financing and developing growth plans for the business.
Pencarrow is currently raising the Pencarrow IV Fund, targeting to be of $100m-$150m size.
