The Pencarrow Private Equity team consists of six professional staff with extensive private equity investing experience.

 

Shawn Beck
Executive Director

Shawn is a founding director of Pencarrow and has been involved in private equity for over 17 years. Prior to Pencarrow, Shawn had a successful background in investment banking with HRL Morrison & Co (leading a number of capital raisings, IPOs and corporate finance assignments) and sharebroking (as an equity analyst and institutional dealer) with Francis, Allison, Symes.

During his time at Pencarrow, Shawn has managed investments across a range of industries and themes, including specialty manufacturing, retail, food, transport, tourism and public to private investments.

Shawn represents Pencarrow on the boards of Home Ideas and Pacific Horizon.

 

Nigel Bingham
Executive Director

Nigel joined Pencarrow in 2005 following a successful 18 year career in investment banking (previously a Partner with Cameron & Company).

Nigel brings extensive experience to Pencarrow from his past role in leading and managing numerous mergers and acquisitions, many of which were private equity clients. Nigel has been involved in all of the new investments undertaken by Pencarrow.

Nigel represents Pencarrow on the boards of NZ Crane Group, Rishworth Aviation, Phil & Teds and BJ Ball. Nigel is deputy chair of the New Zealand Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (NZVCA) Council.

 

 

Rod Gethen
Executive Director

Rod is an investment professional with over 20 years of direct investment, valuation, international corporate advisory and restructuring experience.

Since commencing his career with Pencarrow in 1994, Rod has managed and led a number of portfolio company investments across a variety of industries including plastics manufacturing, food, air freight, aircraft engineering, apparel and outdoor equipment. He has also undertaken the successful restructuring of several portfolio companies.

Rod represents Pencarrow on the boards of Ace Car Rentals, CS Company, NZ Crane Group and BJ Ball. Rod also oversees Pencarrow administration and governance.

 

Raina DeLillo
Associate Director

Raina joined Pencarrow in 2005 from a similar role with Macquarie Bank in Australia, where she spent the previous five years involved with Macquarie Technology Ventures, as well as corporate finance transactions across the technology and life sciences sectors.

Raina’s role at Pencarrow includes the assessment of investment opportunities, valuation, due diligence, transaction structuring and execution, as well as ongoing support of portfolio companies.

Raina represents Pencarrow on the boards of Home Ideas and Pacific Horizon.

 

 

Craig Getz
Investment Analyst

Craig joined Pencarrow in September 2009, following two years with Ernst & Young as a corporate finance analyst. Craig's role at Pencarrow includes assistance with due diligence, financial modelling and valuation for new investments and strategic projects within the portfolio.
